Vandals strike again and trash the conservatory

A supermarket trolley, a lot of alcohol and several brain-dead people have left the St Kilda Botanical Gardens vandalised yet again.  Glass panes on two sides of the conservatory were smashed in.  How can this happen?

 Beauty amid the carnage.

Woody's explanation of the new gates

Woody (David Wood) - the designer of the wonderful gates in the St Kilda Botanical Gardens - on his facebook page describes the new gate:

The fifth gate is in and finished ! I call them "The saints of Saint Kilda" The two winged columns frame a homage to the people who make St Kilda Great.

First it poured ....

And we postponed the working bee.

Then the weather dried up and lots of people called into the glasshouses.

The new gates have been installed on the (sort of) corner of Blessington and Herbert Streets.  Simple lines and very lovely.  Now all we need is the matching fence.
Detail on the new gate - wonder where the other slipper is?
